Cliff Notes: walked into a commercial shoot for Audi R8 in downtown LA. Had my camera.

I just can't stay away. Just kidding, I'm here for work, again. Anyway, so I get in Saturday night, chill a little, see Infected Mushroom @ Avalon, :blah:

. Sunday I am chilling out watching movies in the hotel, but I had to eventually go out to get some things because I didn't bring much because I wanted to avoid trouble @ the airport. So after watching Bad Boys, Rush Hour, Rush Hour 2, and Charlie's Angels, I finally get unlazy and go downstairs.

Now you know there's pretty much always some movie or commercial or series shooting like, possibly anywhere. So I made sure to take my camera. Wasn't expecting much but I get down and notice right in front of my hotel (and right in front of my work as well) there is a shoot setup. I'm like oh damn. I see everything setup on the street but I see no action. I wait a couple of minutes, when I start to hear this beautiful sound coming up the hill.

A silver Audi R8 blows by!!! I was like :eek:

This is one of the baddest looking cars I've ever seen. I would take this over a 997 Turbo, DB9, I will even venture to say I would take it over a F430. It has an appeal you rarely see in any car. My jaw just dropped when I saw it, serious. And the black band on the side that repulses so many in the pictures? It looks spectacular in person and totally goes with the car.

so I was wondering... why does the R8 look so good... I think I figured it out. Look at the basic proportion's resemblance to a certain other car:

What the heck... now that you put them up side by side, the R8 suddenly looks... chubby... stubby...

yeah it does.. dunno if that was the best comparison.. lol.

the front end does look stubby.. and kinda weird. but I think the rest makes up for it!

for everyone who doesnt like the carbon fiber sidepanel thingy... here it is with body colored side-panel... honestly, I prefer it with the CF panel.. I dont think this looks too good.

the car has performance but the looks are leaving me kind of unmoved by it. i don't hate it but i certainly don't love it. safe boring design, wish they would've done a better job with it and took a few more chances.
